The Blakeney Beach Boat sailing experience offers a deeply peaceful introduction to traditional inshore sailing within the calm, protected waters of the salt marsh. Using a 16-foot open beach boat, this experience is designed specifically for gentle exploration of shallow tidal creeks, wide marsh channels, and sheltered coastal waters around Blakeney.

Stable, slow-moving, and exceptionally safe, the beach boat is ideally suited to relaxed journeys shaped by wind, tide, and the natural rhythm of the marsh. Operating entirely within sheltered waters, the experience prioritises quiet movement, simple sail handling, and unhurried observation, with opportunities for gentle swims when weather and conditions allow. The surrounding salt marsh is rich in abundant wildlife, and in summer the creeks and banks are edged with flowering sea lavender and samphire, adding colour and seasonal interest to the journey.

Led by experienced skippers, this North Norfolk sailing experience is suitable for small groups and requires no previous sailing experience. Guests are welcome to take part as much or as little as they wish. Time is taken to pause in the marsh to rest, observe wildlife, and enjoy the stillness of this protected environment.

Each sail includes locally sourced food, prepared and served on the day. Breakfast sails feature bacon and eggs, with a vegetarian alternative available. Lunch or supper sails include homemade soup, cake, and locally produced Norfolk cheese, all enjoyed slowly in the marsh alongside our sustainable sailed coffee.

Beach boat sails depart from Blakeney and can be taken as an on-the-tide sail of approximately 3–4 hours, or a full-day sail of around 8 hours. One-way sails to Morston or Cley are possible, with return transport arranged. Routes are dictated by wind and tide and shaped in discussion with guests, ensuring every journey is calm, flexible, and unique.
