A one way sail from Wells-Next-the-Sea, west to Brancaster. This involves a sail across the Wells sand banks and out into the North Sea. We depart at the earliest opportunity, at the start of the tide and then sail until we are within the safe waters of Brancaster harbour, where we stop for an hour to enjoy a hot drink and one of Norfolk’s best locally sourced meals, which could include local artisan sourdough, Norfolk cheeses, locally made pies and more.

We can also sail or in the smaller crab boat across Holkham Bay, then following Norton Creek behind Scolt Head Island, offering a combined sea and salt marsh sail, although this is only possible on spring tides.

Time:
4-5 hours, followed by a short walk to our Land Rover, then we drive you back to Wells, which takes about 30 mins.

Boat Options:
Our 20’ open wooden lug rigged crab boat, which can take a maximum of 6 people or the 30' whelker via the sea route.

Cost;
£625 in the crab boat including a taxi to return you to the start point or £975 in the whelker.

Food:
We work with local food producers to provide some of the best of Norfolk’s sustainable food. Breakfast is typically bacon and eggs with tea or locally ground coffee or a vegetarian option such as halloumi cheese, mushrooms and tomatoes and for lunch we serve a light picnic or if it is cold, soup. We also serve homemade cake which could vary from flapjack to lemon drizzle cake to chocolate cake.

Experience:
No experience is required, we are super flexible, so you can either drive the boat and handle the sails or just sit back and relax!
