Individuals can join a Group Day Sailing Experience

The North Norfolk Day Sail offers individuals the opportunity to join a shared adventure aboard one of our traditional vessels, spending a full day exploring the remarkable coastline and salt marshes of North Norfolk alongside like-minded people.

Our favourite destination is Scolt Head Island, where, wind and tide permitting, we enjoy a memorable passage through Wells Harbour before sailing one of England's finest stretches of coastline. Every voyage is shaped by the weather, the tides and the character of the day, ensuring that no two sails are ever the same.

Led by experienced Coastal Exploration Company skippers, the emphasis is on traditional seamanship, wildlife and unhurried exploration. Guests are welcome to take the helm, trim sails and learn the fundamentals of navigation, or simply relax and absorb the ever-changing landscape. Seals, curlews, marsh harriers and an abundance of coastal birdlife are regular companions throughout the voyage.

The day begins with a freshly prepared breakfast, followed later by a locally sourced Norfolk lunch, accompanied by tea and freshly brewed coffee, enjoyed ashore or at anchor. On warm days, and when conditions are suitable, there is also the opportunity for a refreshing swim.

Our day sails typically last around eight hours. As the tide ebbs and the marsh gives way to sand, we usually step ashore and return to Wells by vehicle, creating a wonderfully varied day that combines traditional sailing, wildlife, excellent local food and the unique rhythms of the North Norfolk coast.

Ideal for solo travellers, couples and small groups, the North Norfolk Day Sail is a relaxed and sociable experience, bringing together people with a shared appreciation of traditional boats, wild places and life under sail.
