Individuals can join a Group Sailing Experience

The North Norfolk Group Sailing Experience offers individuals the opportunity to join a shared sail aboard one of our traditional vessels, exploring the protected salt marsh creeks of North Norfolk, with the chance to venture out to sea on suitable boats and in favourable conditions.

Depending on tide, weather, and group size, sails take place aboard our mussel flats, crab boats, or whelk boats, each offering a different perspective on the coastal landscape. Most group sails focus on the quiet, sheltered waters of the salt marsh, where shallow creeks, tidal channels, and abundant wildlife create a calm and immersive experience. On selected trips, we may extend beyond the marsh to enjoy coastal and open-water sailing aboard our larger vessels.

Led by experienced Coastal Exploration Co skippers, group sails prioritise learning, wildlife observation, and unhurried time on the water, while also allowing space to relax and simply enjoy the journey. Guests are welcome to take part in handling sails, steering, and reading wind and tide, or to sit back and absorb the surroundings.

Each sail includes locally sourced Norfolk food, appropriate to the time of day, along with hot tea or coffee, enjoyed during a pause in the marsh or along the coast. When conditions allow, there is also the opportunity for gentle wild swimming.

Ideal for solo travellers, couples, or small parties, the Group Sailing Experience offers a low-impact, sociable way to explore the North Norfolk coast, connecting people with traditional sail, tidal landscapes, and the natural world. Routes are dictated by wind and tide, ensuring every sail is unique.
